Today is a really big day for us at Reformation: we’re (finally) unveiling our new brand, identity and website! And boy, has it ever been a labour of love. We’re so excited about our fresh start and hope you love it as much as we do.
Why did we decide to change things up? Well, I’ll let you in on a little secret. A little over a year ago, I realized our company was having a bit of an identity crisis. I felt really disconnected from our brand, and while I still liked our old look, it just didn’t feel like it “fit” anymore. Our business had changed so much in the four years since we launched, and I knew it was time to make a change.
It started with a bang: we dropped the ‘PR’ from our business name! Looking back, it was a painstaking decision, but I am so glad we did it. To be honest, I’ve always struggled with calling our business a ‘public relations agency,’ because change is at the very heart of our company: our mission has always been to disrupt the traditional agency model. By removing ‘PR’ from our name, we can define who we are and what we do, while continuing to evolve as our industry changes.
Once the name change was decided, I started working with our amazing graphic designer, Alicia Carvalho, and the team at Goatsocial. Alicia and I had worked together previously on one small project, and I knew she was the perfect person to make me fall in love with our brand all over again. Alicia truly understood me, my vision, and where I wanted to take the company, and so I trusted her completely with creating our new look. It’s exactly what I envisioned, and I couldn’t be happier with what she created for our business.
Best of all, along with our new look, we have this gorgeous new website. It was important to me that our website not only captured the Reformation brand, but also my personal aesthetic, because it’s not only for our business — it’s also the home of my new blog! I’ve always been a writer, and I’m so excited to finally have a place to write, go behind the scenes of our business and my life as an ‘accidental entrepreneur,’ and talk about the things I love. Check back often – I’ll be posting at least a few times a month.
And so, here we are: Day 1 of Reformation. Be sure to stay awhile – click through, poke around, get to know us again. To those of you who have been part of the journey, our sincere thanks. We’re so happy you’re here.
