When we moved into our new Yaletown studio last fall, it came with plenty of perks: an awesome location, fresh-brewed JJ Bean coffee (and cookies!) every morning, and dangerous proximity to Rodney’s Oyster Bar right downstairs. Beyond that, it also offered the opportunity to network. Early this year, we were introduced to Karen Marshall and Tina Barkley, our new neighbours and the masterminds behind Fleurs de Villes.
As soon as we learned what Karen, Tina, and the team at Fleurs de Villes were up to, we knew we had to work with them! With a mission of ‘cultivating floral events with happiness,’ Fleurs de Villes’ signature event is the Floral Mannequin Series, which seamlessly pairs local floral designers with top brands to create awe-inspiring couture creations, handcrafted solely from florals and greenery.
We were lucky enough to join the team as their PR partner in time for the event’s inaugural cross-Canada tour, which saw the Floral Mannequin Series (and European-inspired pop-up flower markets) hit five cities across the country this spring, including Victoria, Vancouver, Edmonton, Ottawa, and Burlington. The turnout at each city’s VIP Preview Launch event was unprecedented for Fleurs de Villes, as was the media coverage secured in each market, with stories and segments running in Weddingbells Magazine, FASHION, Global BC, VITA, Miss 604, CTV Morning Live Vancouver, Western Living, Ottawa Life, CTV Morning Live Ottawa, Daytime Ottawa and The Times Colonist, just to name a few.
The final event concluded this past Sunday, May 14 – a perfect Mother’s Day celebration – but not before we could recall our favourite looks from the entire tour. Thank you, Fleurs de Villes for an incredible adventure, and for the most important thing of all: a friendly reminder to stop and smell the roses.
